REPORTS TO: Residential Treatment Supervisor and Residential Treatment Social Worker

POSITION OVERVIEW: The RTC position assists in all functions of day to day care for six residents. This includes, but is not limited to, meals, recreation, counseling, program implementation, education and nurturance. BAYC operates within a milieu therapy framework. This is defined as all aspects of the residents living environment and relationships incorporated into their therapy.

HOURS: Part-Time, hourly, non-exempt status. Position is on-call / relief

LOCATION: Hayward

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise youth in completion of their daily routines, implementing program utilized in the home.

2. Actively participate in planning, coordinating, communicating and in carrying out individual treatment plans.

3. Attend and participate in scheduled treatment team meetings.

4. Participate in primary crisis prevention and/or crisis intervention.

5. Assist in resolving group or individual conflicts.

6. Provide one-on-one counseling, as appropriate, or as directed by Supervisor or Social Worker.

7. Communicate with school and other involved entities to coordinate treatment goals.

8. Safeguard the dignity and protect the rights and individuality of each adolescent in care so as to enhance the adolescent's self- respect.

9. Plan and lead recreational activities for residents

10. Dispense and log medication as directed.

11. Maintain client files and daily log.

12. Complete incident reports when necessary

13. Provide for physical safety and care of each youth in care and assure safety procedures are followed.

14. Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the house in addition to the upkeep of the yard.

15. Assure facilities are used in accordance with agency policy.

16. Responsible for additional assignments as directed by the house supervisor and/or social worker.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA is strongly preferred
• Must be 21 years old or older
• Must have valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance
• Insurable by SHS/BAYC automobile policy..
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Clearance of TB test, physical exam, fingerprints and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements.
